PARIS Ocober 22, 2009!!!!

I just got to spend an amazing long weekend with TIFFANY CHOI!!!! who happens to live quite near paris!!!

WE had a great time! and did a whirlwind tour!!!

WE had Angelina's Hot chocolate... quite possibly the greatest invention ever, it is thick, not as thick as warm chocolate pudding, but close, and they give you whipped cream, and its wonderful and rich and decadent :) it was very fun!
WE walked all over paris!

We had a lovely lunch close to Montparnasse, in a great little cafe!

I got to see a great park! That is mostly frequented by REAL parisians... not the tourists!

WE went to the Tiffany Exposition! (lamps)

WE also saw a play! MEDEE!!! (very depressing, but very cool to go see! :) )

I got to see Paris from the Pompidou... (This is a must... its really cool because everything seems close!)

Then we went to go get Prescott from the airport...
From there we had pain au chocolate... duh :)
WE took the BATOBUS down the seine and saw all the big landmarks
We visited the eiffle tower...
notre dame...
l'arc de triomph...
we ran into a random parade of public service officials!
We went to a great cafe!
WE had amazing nutella banana crepes at a great crepe stand!
We saw the Louvre
andddddd we had a really really fun wine tasting/ dinner with Tiffany and her roommate Gis!

What a Paris whirlwind amazing tour!!! :) SO FUN!

Wonderful wonderful wonderful trip!!!

Sorry about the lack of updates! I forgot my password! :( ha!

So Hello Again! We are aback in business :)

I think we just pick up from now... i may try to fill you all in on the past stuff...

This week was vacation! And Prescott came to visit!!! which was amazing.

I was on a train, to paris... just yesterday... and there was a man, just sitting in the entryway, reading a book... petting his cat in a bag...
Then I realized the people I was sitting next to... had a dog... its name was pepit... kindof mangey ... but cute :)
I did not even know animals were allowed! but apparently the ARE
The lady next to her... lets call her... the lady who eats... hehe
She started with a sausage sandwich...
followed by an egg
and then another egg
but these were no normal eggs... they were hard boiled... but she didn't peel them before eating them... she would take a bite... eat the egg part and spit out shell... bluck...
then she ate a clementine...
and another clementine!
And then she took out a small bottle of whiskey... which she sipped... until it was finished.
I do believe that was the end... but it was quite amusing!

Otherwise... I was the closest that I could possibly be to the states on monday... it was great to be by the ocean!
Tuesday was my 23 birthday! Which was great! We did some touring of Brest, shopping, and we had a birthday party! Halloween themed of course!!! WE even bobbed for apples!!!

WE went to normandy... rented a car and everything! That was an adventure... driving in France is... interresting~ :) But we saw Omaha beach, it is erey to think about everything that happened there. WE saw the US Cemetary, which is breath taking... it is crazy to think that the French gave us that land! WE ARE FRIENDS! :)

Halloween we were in Paris, we visited the eiffle tower and that was kindof scary, because there were lots of people out and about, all dressed up... being rather rowdy... but... it was amazing still! I am convinced that it is even more beautiful at night!

Over and Out for now!
Love,
Sarah

Getting settled here :)

Hello Everyone!

#1 I love you and miss you! It has been great to have little encouraging messages from you from time to time, and I think of you... a lot :)

So... I am in France... Brest, France to be specific...

They call me Sarah Beth at school... which is why I am signing this... Sarah Beth :) It's because there is another Sarah, who works here as well... and she does not want to be called Murf (her name is Sarah Murphy.

Anyway... I am working at the University Occidentale de Brest. I am teaching English to French speakers. They are in all levels from 1 to Master to ... they are going to be teachers. Which is very cool. So far, I have only met my classes, this was my first week, but it was great, and I am very much looking forward to this semseter and this year.

I am living in an appartment in Kirinou, which is great, it is furnished, and I have a great spot, with a great window, and my land lady has a great garden out back. My grocery store is literally around the corner and the laundry is just down the street. It is all very nice. I take the bus into work... which isn't bad either...

They tell me it is supposed to be quite rainy here in Brest, but so far (knock on wood) it rained the first week, but has been generally sunny for about two weeks now.

The french is getting less overwhelming everyday, but it still makes me really tired. But it is so cool

I hope to keep you all updated here! Thanks for reading! and I hope you have a great day!!! Keep me updated on you too!
More to come...
